Rdbl was explained: good faith that 2 will be made.

Question: do you have to bid 4 in teams? I think yes.

Maybe North should bid 3, singleton .

The actual play:

Trick1: A

Trick2: ruff.

Trick3: to the J, wins.

Trick4: ruff.

Trick5: K, in East Q

Trick6: via K dummy, to A from West.

Trick7: to J

Trick8: A

Trick9: finesse, ok.

Result: 2 +3 in teams.

Also at the other table, pfff.

What to bid now, West?

West can bid 4NT in the first round, showing both minors.

But because of the passes (East and South) the points are probable devided. East can have an opening without shortness in .

4NT is not without risk, East maybe bids 6 thinking West is a little bit stronger.

After Dbl on 3 I (West) thought I did the right thing.

I chose Pass. Not good, 4 or 5 was the better thing.

5 doesn’t make but 5 -1 is better then 3 +1.

This was the actual deal.

Trick1: 5 to A

Trick2: to A

Trick3: ruff in North

Trick4: for East

Trick5: 5 for North

2 ruffed South, so 3 Dbl +1 was -630.

On the other table 6 Dbl -2 , also something went wrong.

Because we did something better on the rest we still reached the top on this Friday.

A little success at the end

If K is well placed, 4 -, 2-, 1-, 1-trick is 8 tricks.

The 9th trick can come out of the Q finesse or the 4th , if they are 3-3.

The finesse of Q can be postponed.

Trick1: 10 in South A.

Trick2: 9-Q-6-K, that’s weird.

Trick3: 10-2-9-Q

Trick4: 9, finesse, ok.

Trick5: A and West has no any more.

Trick6: Q-K-A-small

Another 2 diamonds played, and a played to East.

East could cash 4-tricks, he had 5 from the beginning.

After that he had to play , to the fork from dummy.

Sad to say, Q was with West with a 6-4-2-1 distribution.

If West leads you can make 10 tricks, finessing everything.

That happened on the other table, by they only reached 2NT.

La revedere, Louis.
