Untitled Document

Bucuresti, 15-2-2005

Monday, pairs at Atomic date 14-02-2005.

If the opponents take out, or they are too high, it is often good to play trump.

Tricks will come from trumps.

I think East should pas 2. He certainly plays the 6-2 fit. But it is pairs.

Why West tried 4 is a great mystery.

Trick1: J – A – 7 - 2

Trick2: 10 - K - 8 - 6

I, North, thought South had trumps and some more tricks.

By playing high I could continue in playing a trump.

Salg3: 10 - 3 - K - 7

Trick4: continued.

Declarer could not ruff anymore but made some tricks 4, 2 (or 1 and 1) and A.

3 down was 800 for NS.

Trick3: A - 9 - 7 - 2

Trick4: for K

Trick5: ruffed in South

Trick6: ruffed in North

Trick7: ruffed in South

Trick8: ruffed in North.

Playing the trumps, 5 Dbl contract was 750.

Epilogue:

If East has read this article he had started with .

If North plays West can take and play a 2nd .

North loses 3 -tricks and A.

But that’s a complete different story.

Louis, the Dutch player.
